Inclusive Sport & Wellbeing

Active Up exists to make racket sport accessible, welcoming and transformative.

We deliver inclusive tennis, padel and pickleball programmes designed for people who may not traditionally see sport as “for them” — including beginners, returners, older adults, women, community groups and those facing barriers to participation.

Our sessions are built around three core principles:

1. Access

We remove practical and psychological barriers to participation. Local venues, clear pathways, supportive coaching and a welcoming environment make it easier to get started.

2. Confidence

Sport should build belief, not intimidation. Our sessions prioritise encouragement, progression and enjoyment — helping participants grow in confidence both on and off court.

3. Community

We create spaces where people feel connected. Social play, group formats and community partnerships help foster belonging alongside physical activity.

What We Deliver

  • Structured tennis coaching programmes
  • Cardio tennis and fitness-based sessions
  • Social play and community leagues
  • Introductory padel and pickleball sessions
  • Wellbeing-focused activity for older adults
  • Bespoke community programmes in partnership with local organisations

Whether someone is picking up a racket for the first time or returning after years away, Active Up provides a supportive pathway into lifelong participation.

Led by an Accredited Coach

Active Up is led by Helena Duignan, an LTA Accredited Level 2 Coach and multi-racket specialist with formal training in tennis, padel and pickleball.

She is Enhanced DBS checked, safeguarding trained and fully insured through LTA Accreditation, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery across all programmes.

More Than Sport

Our inclusive sport programmes often sit alongside digital skills, confidence-building and employability pathways — creating opportunities for progression beyond the court.

We believe sport can be a gateway: to health, to confidence, to connection and to opportunity.
