Digital Skills & Employability Training

Active Up delivers practical digital skills and employability programmes designed to remove barriers to opportunity.

We work with individuals and community groups who may face challenges accessing training, employment or the modern digital workplace. Our programmes focus on building confidence alongside technical ability — ensuring participants leave with both skills and belief in their own potential.

Our training areas include:

  • Digital confidence and essential IT skills
  • Data literacy and data storytelling
  • Employability and workplace readiness
  • Technical apprenticeship preparation and support

We design and deliver engaging, accessible programmes tailored to local need, often working in partnership with community organisations and education providers.

Founder & Lead Trainer

Helena Duignan

I enjoy designing and delivering training that helps people build real confidence with digital tools — the kind of skills that make work and everyday life easier, not more complicated. I’m a PGCLT-qualified educator with extensive experience developing and running digital skills and apprenticeship programmes, with a focus on practical, supportive learning that meets people where they are.

I’m a former Programme Lead for Level 3 and Level 4 Data Apprenticeships and an experienced data analytics, data storytelling and data visualisation professional. That blend of education and hands-on technical practice means I can translate complex topics into clear learning pathways, strong learner support, and measurable outcomes. I’m also an Apprenticeship Assessor and PRINCE2 Practitioner, so delivery is structured, well-governed and evaluation-ready.
